This Festival is open to ensembles of all ages, levels, and instruments (including voice). We welcome students, teachers, family members, and friends. Holiday Music is welcome!

Payment for the Bach festival is handled by parents on the Southern California Junior Bach Festival website. Before registering students, teachers must pay an annual $25 fee to use the SCJBF webiste. 

Theme Festival

Entry Fee: $35
This non-competitive Branch festival is open to all levels of keyboard, instrumental, and voice students and teachers. This year's theme is "Music of the Past 150 Years." Performance times should be no longer than five minutes. Participants will receive a certificate and written comments!

Bach and Baroque Festival

​Entry Fee: $50
Our Branch Bach and Baroque Festival is presented in tandem with the Southern California Junior Bach Festival. Registration is done through their website. Students participating in this festival will receive comments from three evaluators. Students performing works by J.S. Bach may be eligible to compete in SCJBF's regional festival.​​

Branch Recitals

​Entry Fee: $15
Branch Recitals provide performance opportunities for students of all levels and ages. Recitals are scheduled
on Saturdays, and the number of programs depends on the number of entries. Performance and dress codes
must be followed as instructed on the application form. It is recommended students memorize solo pieces.​​

Sonata/Sonatina Festival

​Entry Fee: $50
In this competitive festival, students perform a movement from a Sonatina or Sonata (the first or final movement only) and another piece from a contrasting style period (as defined by the CM Piano Syllabus). All pieces must be memorized. There are 3 divisions, each with their own time limits:

     Elementary (K-grade 4)– 5 minute time limit

     Intermediate (grades 5-7)– 7 minute time limit

     Senior (grades 8-12)– 9 minute time limit

All students receive certificates and evaluations from three judges. Trophies are awarded to the first, second, and third place winners in each category, and medals will be awarded to any honorable mentions, at the judges’ discretion. First-pace winners are invited to perform at the annual Installation Potluck.​​
